Hello again!
I thought it would be a good idea for me to write a bit about how I started my kit, best brands, what to avoid and inspiration/tutorial YouTube channels just in the off chance someone might be interested. If you are considering becoming a nail technician or even just doing it in your bedroom as a hobby- it is still important to know these tips as they will save you some money!
This is a brand I wish I knew about before starting out. It is completely affordable compared to other nail supply brands out there and has really high quality supplies as well as is based in Scotland! Their range of acrylic powder colours is incredible.
Another UK brand with fantastic affordable products. I personally have only ordered nail primer, dehydrator and some essentials from their website but I have heard great reviews. Quick and cheap delivery.

Naio Nails is also known for incredibly educational and informative YouTube videos with many tutorials. I really enjoy watching their videos and learning different techniques and hearing about new products. I highly recommend watching their videos if you are interested in nails.
YOUTUBE CHANNEL
I noticed a lot of people were recommending this brand on nail tech tips pages and I thought it would be a good idea to check it out. Aside from the hefty price tag of some items (VAT added at the end), I can genuinely say the items I have received from this company are very much worth it. I purchased the Size 8 Magic Acrylic Nail Brush and cannot recommend it enough- alongside some glitters but that is standard. Delivery was not cheap and took around 4 days but that is something I can live with. Also, you can get a 5% discount code online which makes it a little less painful.
Do not be fooled by the god awful, old fashioned website design- the products are amazing. This brand was also recommended to me by other nail techs and I have not been disappointed. They have incredible pre-mixed acrylic powders of any colour and effect- mine and my clients absolute favourite has been Super Nova which is an incredible white/iridescent/clear powder mix. I thought prices were reasonable enough for the amount of product you receive- look out for offers for free shipping.

WHAT TO AVOID
Amazon
I really wish I knew this sooner- I would have saved myself a lot of money, but in general- nail supplies from Amazon are not the best- brands like Blue Sky or Lavender Violets are great for when you're starting out but you need to keep in mind what is advertised often isn't what arrives at your door. I have been disappointed many times by my Amazon deliveries as they appeared completely different to what I thought I was getting. Thankfully, Amazon is great at handling complaints -a simple click on the report button and my money was refunded. One thing I would definitely say categorically NOT to buy from Amazon is acrylic brushes- they claim to be high quality Kolinsky hair which as an inexperienced nail technician I believed- however looking back now with a real Kolinsky brush purchased from Glitter Planet- I can definitely say they are not the same.Candy Coat
From their business instagram- everything is sooo dreamy, everything is pink and sweet and beautiful and I completely fell for that. I was so disappointed with my purchase from Candy Coat, even more so disappointed with their customer service. I purchased (what I thought would be) an opaque neon lime yellow and some coffin tips- what I received was a near transparent yellow and the tips were not fit for use at all. I raised this issue with the customer team to which I received nothing back- my complaint email was simply ignored. Stay away from this company.BEST BRANDS

Already mentioned- the nail technician Kristy who makes video for their YouTube Channel is very funny and informative.
Nail Career Education
I saved the best for last. If you are still reading you are in for a treat. Suzie from Nail Career Education is amazing- she has so much experience as a professional nail technician and her voice is so soothing I could listen to her video all day and night.
